Senior Digital Development Officer
We are looking for a Senior Digital Development Officer to lead the development and publication of Best Start in Life Family Hubs digital offer.
The role will help create a single, accessible digital route for parents and carers to find information, identify the right support and access services more easily. You will make sure the digital offer is accurate, accessible and organised around the needs of families. This will include identifying and resolving problems such as confusing routes, duplicated information, broken links and content that is no longer current.
This fixed-term role has been created to support the Department for Education’s Best Start in Life Strategy. During the contract, you will provide digital leadership and specialist advice, bringing together information from council services and partner organisations to improve the overall online experience for families.
What You’ll Be Doing
What We’re Looking For
Experience of working in local government and a digital media or management qualification would be helpful, but these are not essential.
This role offers the opportunity to improve how parents and carers find and access information about local services. Your work will directly support the quality, accessibility and reliability of the Best Start in Life Family Hubs digital offer, contributing to better outcomes for children, young people and families across Derbyshire.
You will work with colleagues across Digital Services and Children’s Services, as well as health services, external agencies, community groups and other partners. This provides an opportunity to apply your digital knowledge to a defined area of public service, while helping different organisations present information more clearly and consistently.
We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds and professional experiences who can demonstrate the essential requirements of the role. The postholder will be expected to actively support the council’s commitment to equality, fairness and opportunity.
Please complete the application process set out on the vacancy page. Your application should explain how your skills and experience meet the essential requirements in the Person Profile.
Where possible, include clear examples of your experience in web publishing, content management systems, accessibility, data quality, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and improving digital services.
