Job Description

SummaryWe’re looking for a Senior Communications and Marketing Officer to plan and lead our communications and marketing for the Ironbridge Gorge properties, including Blists Hill, Coalbrookdale Jackfield and Coalport. What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Visitor Experience Manager, you'll join a welcoming community of people who want to share Ironbridge and its stories, history and nature with our supporters. Ironbridge Gorge is newly opened under the National Trust, and this is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the team as we explore the next chapter for the sites. The portfolio is complex with multiple sites, stakeholders and visitor-facing activities as well as being fundamental to the World Heritage Site status of Ironbridge itself.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Senior Communications and Marketing Officer, you'll use your marketing experience to lead for and hold the annual plan for marketing and communications. We're looking for someone who is creative, people-focussed and customer-led to bring the rich history, events and conservation work of Ironbridge to life.

You’ll be confident in welcoming everyone and you’ll know how to support our ambition to reach new and diverse audiences and have the confidence and ability to work with both internal and external partners. You’ll look for opportunities to collaborate and choose to deliver with others in all that you do.

In this role, you'll ensure the basics are brilliant on our webpages and social media, ensuring information is timely, accurate and engaging. You’ll run social media accounts, create promotional materials and distribute press releases.

We’re still in project-mode, so you have opportunity to shape the role working closely with colleagues on site, Ironbridge transition project leads, and the Trust’s regional advisors, known as Specialist Delivery Partners. You’ll work with regional peers cross-Shropshire, delivering external partnership and stakeholder comms including the local authority and tourist economy leads.
