Join the Real Estate organization, the team that secures and protects the land rights behind the company's transmission and distribution infrastructure
The team supports high-visibility projects, including new construction, rebuilds, major projects and relocations, for internal business partners and external customers

Research company and public records, including county records, to determine property ownership and title condition and to locate existing rights
Review engineering drawings, site plans and legal descriptions to prepare accurate real estate documents
Do prior-rights research and prepare documents for new construction and major projects
Apply real estate law and engineering knowledge to solve problems on acquisition projects
Submit land rights to Data Management for indexing in the asset inventory database, and map easements in GIS
Work with Real Estate Representatives, Research Specialists, Data Management Specialists and internal business partners to meet project needs
Provide guidance, training and technical oversight to Research Specialist I and vendor staff
Stay current on land, notary and recording regulations and best practices, and keep sensitive projects confidential
Associate's degree in Paralegal, Real Estate, Business, Political Science, Surveying or a related field, plus 2+ years of related experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 4+ years of experience also qualifies.
Experience with title examination, abstracting, or right-of-way and land rights research
Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions, surveys and engineering drawings
Working knowledge of real estate law and real estate terminology
Strong attention to detail, organization and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office. GIS or mapping experience is a plus.
Valid driver's license and a Notary Public commission or willingness to get one within the first year
Preferred: Bachelor's degree, Paralegal certification or IRWA certification, and knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems
