Job Description

Technical Lead (C++ / Rust)

We're building an ambitious deeptech business and have raised $12M in pre-seed funding from renowned investors including Anthropic and Revolut.

We're now looking for a Lead Software Engineer to take ownership of core software development, drive technical direction and help build the foundations of our technology as we scale.

This is a critical role within the business. You'll have the opportunity to tackle complex engineering challenges, make key architectural decisions and take ownership of software that will play a central role in the company's growth.

You'll have a genuine influence on the technology we build, the engineering standards we set and how the team develops as the business scales.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the design and development of core software systems using C++ or Rust.
  • Driving architectural decisions and setting high engineering standards across the codebase.
  • Tackling complex technical challenges around performance, reliability and scalability.
  • Working closely with the wider engineering team to turn ambitious ideas into robust, production-ready software.
  • Taking ownership of key technical projects from initial design through to deployment.
  • Helping shape engineering practices and mentoring other engineers as the team grows.

What we're looking for

  • Strong software engineering experience with modern C++ or Rust.
  • A solid understanding of software architecture, systems design and writing reliable, high-performance code.
  • Experience building and shipping complex software in a production environment.
  • Someone comfortable taking ownership of technical decisions and leading projects from the front.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in tackling difficult engineering challenges.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

Why join?

  • Technical ownership: influence core architecture and shape the direction of the software.
  • Huge impact: play a key role in building the engineering foundations of a rapidly growing deeptech business.
  • Room to lead: help establish engineering standards, influence technical decisions and support the growth of the team.
  • Exceptional backing: join a high-growth deeptech startup backed by $12M in pre-seed funding.

An opportunity to take on a genuine technical leadership role, solve challenging engineering problems and help build something ambitious from the ground up.
