Software Developer (Product Focused) - up to £80,000 - ID49811

Love building products that people genuinely enjoy using?

Excited by the idea of combining software engineering, product thinking, UX, and AI to create exceptional digital experiences?

Looking for a role where you'll influence product direction and not just write code?

If you're passionate about creating intuitive, high-performing digital products and enjoy solving real user problems through data, experimentation, and modern engineering practices, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Our client is searching for a Product Engineer to join a collaborative Product and Engineering team focused on building engaging digital platforms used by millions of users. This is an opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and design through to development, launch, optimisation, and continuous improvement.

Rather than simply delivering features, you'll help shape product decisions, influence user experiences, and measure the impact of your work, all while collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers in an agile, fast-moving environment.

Why You'll Love This Opportunity

As a Product Engineer, you'll enjoy the opportunity to

• Build modern, customer-facing digital products using React, TypeScript, Node.js and REST APIs.
• Take ownership of features from initial concept through to launch and ongoing optimisation.
• Work alongside Product Managers and Designers to shape user journeys and deliver exceptional experiences.
• Use behavioural analytics, experimentation and A/B testing to make informed product decisions.
• Help create fast, accessible, mobile-first experiences that delight users.
• Contribute to design systems and reusable component libraries that improve consistency and scalability.
• Explore AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and accelerate delivery.
• Influence product strategy by combining technical expertise with product insight and user empathy.
• Continuously improve product quality, performance, usability and maintainability.
• Help build products that make a genuine difference to users by supporting their learning, career development and future opportunities.

About You

You'll thrive in this role if you're someone who enjoys building products with purpose and likes seeing the real-world impact of your work.

Ideally, you'll bring experience with

• Building customer-facing digital products or other high-engagement platforms.
• React, TypeScript, Node.js and REST API development.
• Working closely with Product Managers, Designers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytics platforms, experimentation and A/B testing.
• Design systems and component-based development.
• Tools such as GA4, Google Tag Manager, feature flags or behavioural analytics platforms.
• AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code or similar technologies.
• Creating intuitive user experiences and making data-informed product decisions.

If you don't meet every point above but have transferable experience, strong technical foundations and a genuine passion for building outstanding digital products, our client would still love to hear from you.

What Success Looks Like In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a measurable impact by:

• Delivering product improvements efficiently from idea through to release.
• Increasing user engagement, conversion, retention and overall product performance.
• Building high-quality, accessible and maintainable software.
• Using analytics and experimentation to continuously improve user experiences.
• Helping create products that users genuinely value and return to.

Why Join?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation where engineers are trusted to influence product direction, solve meaningful challenges and work with modern technologies in a collaborative environment.

You'll be encouraged to experiment, innovate and continuously develop your skills while working on products that reach a large and engaged user base.

Whether your passion lies in engineering excellence, product innovation, user experience or AI-enabled development, you'll find plenty of opportunities to grow your career here.
