We have an outstanding Contract position for a Software Developer to join a leading Company located in the Laurel, MD surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $50.00 - $150.00

• US Citizenship is required.**
• Candidate must possess an Active Top Secret Security Clearance.**

We are seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain software supporting advanced research and mission-critical government capabilities. Our work spans distributed systems, cybersecurity, and embedded platforms. We need someone who enjoys writing high-quality software, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and applying modern engineering practices to deliver reliable solutions. Experience with Rust is particularly valuable.

Job Responsibilities

• You will design, implement, test, and maintain software supporting research and prototype systems.
• You will develop modern, high-performance applications using Rust and other programming languages where appropriate.
• You will collaborate with systems engineers, researchers, and domain experts to translate technical concepts into production-quality software.
• You will participate in code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration efforts to ensure software quality and maintainability.

Basic Hiring Criteria

• Possess a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, arelated field, or a combination of equivalent experience, education, and certifications.
• Have 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Have experience developing software in Rust, or significant experience in C++ with a demonstrated interest in developing production software in Rust.
• Have experience with Git, automated testing, debugging, and Linux development environments.
• Have experience developing reliable, maintainable software using modern software engineering practices.
• Are able to obtain a Final Top Secret level security clearance by your start date.

Desired Qualifications

• Possess a Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Have 5+ years developing production software.
• Have significant experience developing production applications in Rust.
• Have experience with asynchronous programming, concurrent systems, distributed computing, orhigh-performance computing.
• Have experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development.
• Have experience with secure software development, formal methods, or static analysis.
