A Senior Software Developer (C# .NET) is required to join the Data team of a leading global energy trading house, working on business-critical data platforms that sit at the heart of a data-driven energy trading business.

This is a senior C# .NET full stack role with strong emphasis on C#, .NET, Angular, and data-intensive engineering. You'll take a lead technical role within the development team, owning end-to-end delivery of functionality, mentoring other developers, and shaping the architectural direction of the platform.

This energy trading business is transitioning into a data-driven organisation, with a leading footprint across the European energy trading markets. The Data team provides business solutions that extract value from large volumes of data spanning market data collection, real-time data streams, data governance and machine learning. This C# .NET Senior Software Developer role focuses predominantly on the data consumption and publishing area.

The Team

The Data team sits at the centre of this energy trading business's data strategy, responsible for:

• Business solutions that extract value from large-scale data
• Collection of market data and related analysis tooling
• Real-time data stream processing
• Data governance and machine learning initiatives
• Data consumption and publishing systems

As a senior C# .NET developer and senior member of the team, you'll work alongside developers, architects and end users to refine requirements, resolve incidents, and drive the platform forward.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will

• Work as a senior member of the development team to develop & maintain data-orientated systems
• Own end-to-end delivery of functionality — from analysis and solution design through to implementation and release
• Participate in agile processes and ceremonies as part of ongoing delivery
• Mentor and review the code of other developers
• Contribute to the architectural direction of the system
• Influence the overall direction of the platform
• Liaise with end users to refine requirements
• Collaborate with the data support team to ensure the platform is properly monitored and incidents are resolved promptly

Required Experience

• Expert-level C# .NET knowledge (C#, ASP.NET) with several years of commercial C# .NET development experience
• App containerisation and Docker
• A relational database technology (SQL Server preferred, or Postgres, Oracle)
• Good development practices — test automation, IoC, SOLID principles, observability, logging and monitoring with Grafana or similar
• Strong Angular experience for frontend web development
• Experience working with data-heavy applications (low latency streaming or high volume ingestion)

Nice to Have

• Automated CI/CD pipelines including automated deployment
• Agile development (Scrum preferred)
• Azure DevOps (TFS/Git) for continuous integration, automated testing and source control
• Non-relational database technologies (ClickHouse, MongoDB)
