About The Role - Senior Backend Engineer, Python, Backend-For-Frontend (BFF) | FastAPI, GraphQL, Mobile API's | AI FinTech, Series C, Greenfield Mobile build | 2 Days Hybrid, London | Up to £125,000 base + Equity

You will be joining a company with extremely experienced backend engineering capabilities, however will be the first engineer focusing on a completely greenfield project (The mobile application)

You will own the Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layer that powers the mobile application. This role sits at the intersection of mobile, platform, AI, and data engineering.

You will be creating mobile experiences which will enable businesses to make quick real time decisions within the financial markets which is crucial for success. You will work closely with mobile, content, AI and data to ensure personalisation and reliable experiences on mobile.

Requirements For The Senior Backend Engineer, Python, Backend-For-Frontend (BFF) | FastAPI, GraphQL, Mobile API's | AI FinTech, Series C, Greenfield Mobile build | 2 Days Hybrid, London | Up to £125,000 base + Equity

• Extensive experience building backend systems in either Typescript or Python, working on BFF Layers.
• Strong experience with FastAPI
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, complex relational domains, and entity resolution/mapping.
• Proven experience identifying high performers and promoting them through the business.
• High proficiency in Python (or similar backend languages), alongside familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerisation (Kubernetes).
• A strong product and customer-centric mindset, comfort driving clarity through ambiguity, and a history of end-to-end technical project ownership.
• Strong communications skills
