Role: Desk Developer (Excel / Pricing Support) – Mid-Level
Client: European Investment Bank
Location: London / Hybrid
Contract: Permanent
Overview
Inspire Talent is looking for an experienced Senior RAD (Rapid Application Development) Developer to join a leading investment bank’s Equities RAD Tech team on an urgent, high-impact migration programme.
The role
The team must move business-critical trading models off an unsupported platform and onto a new, supported one. You’ll own the move end to end: understand how each model works today, rebuild it accurately on the new platform, and make sure the business signs off every change.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse, document and understand existing Excel/VBA trading models, including their logic, dependencies and data flows
- Migrate and re-engineer models onto the new supported platform with accuracy and control
- Reconcile outputs between the legacy and new versions so results match
- Find and fix issues, inefficiencies and technical debt in existing models
- Work closely with traders, quants and business users to agree, explain and get sign-off on any changes
- Manage stakeholder expectations and keep progress, risks and priorities clear in a fast-paced trading environment
- Produce clear documentation and support business acceptance testing
What we’re looking for
- Extensive hands-on Excel and VBA development experience on complex, business-critical tools
- Strong financial modelling knowledge, ideally in equities or trading environments
- Proven experience delivering RAD / EUC (End User Computing) migrations or remediation projects
- Excellent stakeholder management, with the confidence to challenge, explain and gain agreement from front-office users
- A methodical, detail-focused approach to testing, reconciliation and controls
- Previous experience in investment banking or capital markets
Nice to have
- Exposure to Python, C#, SQL or other modern development platforms
- Understanding of equity products, pricing and risk
- Experience working within EUC governance frameworks
