About the Tutor Position

Club Z! Tutoring is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic tutor to provide academic support in the following subjects:

• High School / College level Math
• High School/ College level Science
• Test Preparation

Tutor Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to tutor students up to college level
• Comfort navigating computers and online learning platforms
• Availability during late afternoons and evenings
• Proficiency with Zoom or Google Meet
• An active teaching certification or bachelor's degree is required

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of previous tutoring experience
• Successful completion of a background check
• Experience working with high school students
• Background in adult education or tutoring adult learners

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, one-on-one tutoring sessions to students of varying ages and academic levels.
• Develop personalized lesson plans tailored to each student's needs, strengths, and learning goals.
• Use engaging teaching strategies to build confidence and support academic growth.
• Monitor student progress and communicate updates to parents or guardians as appropriate.
• Collaborate with families and educators to create a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Incorporate educational technology and resources to enhance online tutoring sessions.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.

• Strong subject knowledge in the assigned academic areas
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed
• Strong organizational and lesson-planning skills
• Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying academic needs
• Proficiency in using online educational tools and resources

Compensation and Employment Type

• Pay: $20 per hour
• Job Type: Part-time, Contract
• Schedule: Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (1:00-3:00pm EST)Hours: 2, one-hour sessions a week
