AB Marketing Group is a 9-year marketing agency serving local and regional businesses across the US. Our clients need more creative than ever: paid ads that want many variations of every concept, social calendars that never stop, brand kits, website mock-ups, and the printed pieces that still carry real weight for a local business, from storefront posters to trade-show banners. We're hiring a Graphic & Brand Designer who is ready for how design works now. You'll use AI image and video tools every day to move faster and explore further, and you'll bring the design fundamentals those tools don't have.
An AI tool can produce an image in seconds. It can't tell you whether the hierarchy works, whether the type is on brand, whether that logo is the real one, or whether the file will hold up printed at 24 by 36 inches. That judgment is the job. This seat exists because design requests across our client accounts now land on people whose main job is something else. You'll own that work end to end: the concept, the AI-assisted generation, the finishing in Adobe, and the file that goes to the media buyer, the client, or the printer. Our clients pay premium rates, and their creative should look like it.
What you'll do
- Design static ads for Meta and Google at volume: real variations across angles, hooks, and formats (1:1, 4:5, 9:16, and display sizes), built from on-brand templates so a media buyer can actually test them.
- Use AI image and video tools (Higgsfield, Artlist, Nano Banana, and OpenAI's image models and Sora) to generate scenes, product settings, backgrounds, and motion, starting from references rather than guesswork.
- Finish every AI output by hand: set real type and the real logo file, fix the artifacts AI leaves behind, and hold alignment, proportion, and hierarchy to a professional standard.
- Take approved concepts to print: upscale and retouch for the final size, convert to CMYK with the printer's profile, build bleed and safe zones, and export press-ready PDFs for posters, banners, postcards, menus, signage, and vehicle wraps.
- Build brand identity systems for clients: logos, color, type, and guidelines their team and ours can actually use, plus the templates that keep every future piece on brand.
- Mock up websites and landing pages in Figma before they are built, so the client and our developers are looking at the same page.
- Design social graphics, carousels, story frames, thumbnails, and cover images for a portfolio of client accounts.
- Take design requests from our account managers, media buyers, and project managers, turn them around on schedule, and flag early when a brief is missing something.
- Keep your work organized in each client's shared folder: layered master files, clearly named exports, and brand assets where the next person can find them.
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of professional graphic design with client work you can show. A portfolio is required, and we look at everything you send.
- A portfolio that includes at least one brand identity system and at least one piece that went to print, alongside digital and social work.
- Fluency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Canva is fine for a quick social post, but anything that ships to print or becomes a brand asset is built in Adobe.
- Daily, hands-on use of AI image and video tools in real client or brand work, not just experiments. You can explain which tool you reach for and why.
- Print production knowledge: resolution at final size, CMYK and color profiles, bleed and safe zones, vector versus raster, and how to talk to a printer.
- Strong design fundamentals: typography, layout, hierarchy, and color. You know when an AI image is beautiful and still wrong for the brand.
- Judgment about what AI output can't be trusted with: rendering text and logos, keeping products and faces accurate, and anything you don't have the rights to use commercially.
- Speed with quality: you can hold a queue of requests across many clients and deliver on schedule without the craft slipping.
- Clear written English and responsive async communication with a US Eastern (New York) based team, with daily overlap for briefs and feedback.
- Self-directed work style: you don't need to be managed, reminded, or chased.
