Build the web experience behind a rapidly growing connected gaming platform
A 100-year-old British consumer brand has acquired a fast-growing technology startup, combining physical hardware with a global online gaming platform.
The product uses a three-camera system to automatically track gameplay, score matches and connect players with people anywhere in the world.
It already has 200,000+ users, growing rapidly, with ambitions to reach the low millions.
They're now looking for a Frontend Engineer to help build what comes next.
You'll join a small engineering team at an exciting point in the product's growth.
The focus is on modernising the existing web experience, building new features and making the product more engaging.
You'll have genuine autonomy. This isn't a role where you're simply handed tickets. They're looking for someone who spots problems, identifies opportunities and takes ownership.
You'll work closely with engineering, product, design and growth across areas including:
The tech
Frontend: TypeScript, React
Backend: Go
AI: Claude Code
The engineering team is around 6 to 10 people across frontend, backend and computer vision.
You won't need Go, but there's scope to get involved beyond the frontend if that's something that interests you.
What they're looking for
They're open on level. You could be a strong mid-level engineer or a senior engineer ready to take real ownership.
Bonus points for experience with gamification, real-time products, accessibility, subscriptions, Go, startups or AI coding tools.
Why join?
This isn't a traditional frontend role where you pick up tickets in a large engineering team.
You're joining a small team with real autonomy, working on a product that's already used by 200,000+ people and aiming for millions.
Consumer tech × hardware × gaming × real-time systems × community
If you like owning problems, moving quickly and building products people genuinely use, this is a great one to get stuck into.
