Salary: N150,000 - N200,000
Job Responsibilities To record the company's daily transactions accurately, keep custody of source documents, and support the Accountant in weekly and monthly reporting.
SCHEDULE OF DUTIES
Daily
- Raise invoices and receipts for machine sales, installation jobs and maintenance calls, and apply VAT correctly on each.
- Post all sales, purchases and expenses into the accounting records the same day.
- Operate the petty cash book and obtain approval before any disbursement.
- Lodge daily collections from cash, POS and transfers, then agree the total with the sales summary.
- Update the inventory register for machines received, installed or delivered.
Weekly
- Update the debtors ledger, issue customer statements and pursue overdue balances.
- Reconcile petty cash and restore the float.
- Submit the week's records to the Accountant for review.
Monthly and Periodic
- Assist with payroll, tax and pension schedules.
- Gather bank statements and supporting documents for reconciliation.
- Take part in the stock count of machines and spare parts.
Records
- File and safeguard invoices, waybills, goods received notes, job cards, payment vouchers and bank tellers.
- Retrieve documents promptly for management, auditors or the tax authorities.
REQUIREMENTS
- HND/B.Sc in Accounting or a related discipline.
- ICAN ATS certification is an advantage.
- One to three years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a trading or services company.
- Competent in Excel and in at least one accounting package.
- Accuracy, honesty and a willingness to work under supervision.
