Data Migration Engineer – Business Applications & CRM

Salary: £50,000 -£60,000

Location: Hybrid (1 day per week in South Manchester office)

Process: 2 stages via MS Teams | Completed within 7 days | No take-home tasks or presentations

• What this role IS: A highly specialised engineering position focused on moving live operational data (CRMs, billing, subscription platforms) safely between business systems following major acquisitions and platform consolidations.
• What this role IS NOT: We are not looking for someone to build standard analytics pipelines, maintain data warehouses, or create Tableau/PowerBI dashboards. We are also not looking for infrastructure or server migration specialists.

My client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed business undergoing significant transformation following a series of acquisitions.

They're looking for a hands-on Data Migration Engineer to help consolidate customer and operational data from different business applications into their core systems.

This isn't a traditional Data Engineering or cloud migration role. The focus is on migrating data between live business applications, such as CRM, billing, finance and subscription platforms.

What you'll be doing

• Migrating customer, contract, billing and operational data between different business systems.
• Writing SQL scripts to extract, cleanse, transform and load data.
• Mapping data between source and target applications, including complex business rules.
• Validating and reconciling migrated data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Supporting application consolidation following acquisitions.

What we're looking for

• Strong hands-on SQL experience.
• Proven experience migrating data between CRM, ERP, billing or other operational applications.
• Experience with data mapping, transformation, cleansing and reconciliation.
• Python experience would be beneficial, but isn't essential.
• Salesforce or Dynamics migration experience would be particularly interesting.

This is an opportunity to work on varied, business-critical migrations within a growing organisation, with excellent flexibility and just one day in the Wilmslow office every fortnight.
